Dodds ‘calm’

PRISON?OFFICERS?at HMP Dodds did not carry out their threat of a sick-out yesterday, but sources report that there is still uneasiness at the St Philip penal institution.
A warder told the MIDWEEK NATION that while there was a skeleton staff early yesterday morning, the situation returned to normalcy as the day progressed.
However, he said: “This is the calm before the storm. It is chilly up here.”
The warders were upset after discovering two weeks ago that eight prison officers were selected for promotions. They charged that the promotion process was supposed to be on hold, pending a review of the Public Service Act by Government. (MB)
