Shared Adventure looks hot

There is another young equine star emerging at the Garrison Savannah.
His name is Shared Adventure.
This promising three-year-old son by Wildcat Heir out of Starship Elaine gave fans further testimony to his ability with another scintillating victory in the feature event, the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company Trophy over 1 570 metres last Saturday.
Owned by H and M and trained by Boston John, the colt has now moved his career record to four wins from seven starts, supported by two seconds and a third.
Shared Adventure’s win on Saturday was more pleasing as he annihilated his opponents, among whom Indian Officer and A.P. Vincero are the only ones to have defeated him over 1 570 metres.
Both did so while being the recipients of weights from Shared Adventure. His fourth win was special. Not only did he see out his race, he extracted revenge on his conquers Indian Officer and A.P. Vincero as they all finally met at level weights. He cruised to the lead from the start and when asked to quicken he did so admirably, putting to rest any doubts about his staying ability.
Shared Adventure’s pedigree line does suggest speed, with his dam winning three races in her brief career, all sprinting, one at Calder and the others at Suffolk Downs, including one race on the turf.
Whereas his sire Wildcat Heir also won sprint races but of a higher quality, amongst his major triumphs were the Icecapade Stakes (2004), the Teddy Drone Stakes (2005), both races at Monmouth Park.
His greatest win took place at Pimlico, where he won the Frank J De Francis Memorial Dash Stakes Grade 1. All races were at six furlongs.
He showed speed in his first outing before eventually fading into third position. One saw the benefits of that experience as in his next start he dismissed his opponents in the Barbados Thoroughbred Breeders Association Open Two-Year Old Trophy Condition Race over 1 100 metres by 6 ¼ lengths in a very good time of one minute 04.4 seconds.
His first assignment as a three-year-old came via the Jim Davis Condition Race also over 1 100 metres. There he showcased a greater level of maturity,  romping home by a whopping 7 ½ lengths in a respectable one minute 05. 3 seconds.
Having advanced up the rating ladder swiftly, he has found favour with race fans  for his burst of speed and as a result his connection entered him in open company – the Condominium At Palm Beach Trophy Handicap for horses rated 75-100 over 1 100 metres.
Also entered were this year’s Gold Cup runners Daga and Cavaichi along with Spa Sprint Stakes and Trophy competitors Vitality and Run Alke Run.
When the clock stopped for that event at one minute 05.4 seconds, Shared Adventure having travelled like greased lightning was 2 ¾ lengths comfortably ahead, dispelling any doubt about his speed and class.
With his natural speed a given, there were some questions about his ability to carry it and be competitive over the route distances.
The only disappointment in Saturday’s performance was a timing equipment failure depriving his followers of the data on the margin of this win and the final time.
