Barbadian-born calypso legend Singing Francine was a hit with both adults and children at the 22nd annual edition of the Rotary Club’s Carols By Candlelight at Ilaro Court last night.

Her real name Francine Edwards, she said it was her first ever Christmas performance in her native land.

The 74-year-old, who has lived and performed in Trinidad and Tobago for decades, particularly got the attention of the children when she sang one of her trademark Christmas songs, Parang Parang, which saw the youngsters not only rushing to the front of the stage, but also dancing and singing along.
