CHRISTAL MCLENNAN-ALERT not only brought pride to herself, but the Christ Church Girls School as well.

On Wednesday, Minister of Education, Anthony Wood, told the media that the all girl's school was rated in the top ten primary schools in Barbados. To be more precise it was ranked in position No. 2.

Principal Heather Bryan attributed the success of the school to the hard work and dedication of its staff. She said that although a full analysis was yet to be done, the results of this year's Common Entrance Examination were much better than last year's.

In fact, she boasted that all 61 students who sat the 11-plus examination on May 15 secured a place at a Government secondary school. Christ Church Girls School has an overall roll of 630 students.

However, the spotlight was on MCLennan-Alert.

When a WEEKEND NATION team visited the institution yesterday, she was all smiles and was "very happy" about her achievement.

In fact, the 99 per cent in mathematics and 90 per cent in English with an A in Composition were enough for her to secure a place at Harrison College.

"I was surprised and happy that Harrison College, my dream school came true," the shy student who lives in Cave Hill, St Michael said.

She thanked everyone for helping her with her studies.
