Mark recently returned from Hungary where he was given a four-month scholarship to Semmelweiss University for physical education and sport where he underwent specialised training in coaching theory and practice.
He has therefore acquired a diploma in coaching table tennis which, according to Barbados Table Tennis Association (BTTA) president Stephen Blanchard, is recognised internationally.
Blanchard said Mark would now be utilised as part of the BTTA's coaching team and would be used to help coach the many youngsters who were getting involved in table tennis.
Mark, who has already gained a cap at national level, said he enjoyed his stint at Semmelweiss where he gained a lot of knowledge and information.
He thanked the BTTA and the Barbados Olympic Association for giving him the opportunity through the scholarship.
Other Barbadians benefiting from the same scholarship were Rawle Alleyne, the current national coach, David Odle and Philip Hackett. (TE)
