"Many exhibitors have reported receiving orders for goods, some of them being export orders," said acting president of the Barbados Manufacturers' Association (BMA), Elias Azan.
Among those benefiting were furniture and craft manufacturers, according to Azan. Though he had no details on the volumes and value of the orders, he said business people from several countries, including Canada, Britain, Belize, St Vincent and Guyana, had come to BMEX with the intention of placing orders.
Azan's business, snacks-maker Alamac Trading Company Limited, also made connections with distributors from Guyana and St Vincent who expressed an interest in distributing its products. (TY)
