Published on: 10/16/07.

LOCAL POLITICIANS yesterday joined with thousands of others at the Wildey Gymnasium for a multi-faith service by the Church of God Reformation Movement.

People from various religious denominations came together to praise and worship God.

On the side of the Barbados Labour Party, Julie Arthur, wife of Prime Minister Owen Arthur, was present along with their daughter Leah and Arthur's other daughter Sabrina Worrell.

Apologies were offered for Arthur, who had a pressing engagement, and Deputy Prime Minister Mia Mottley who was out of the island.

The Opposition Democratic Labour Party was represented by St Lucy representative Dennis Kellman, Richard Sealy, MP for St Michael South Central, and candidates Esther Byer-Suckoo, Patrick Todd and Michael Carrington.

Opposition Leader David Thompson was overseas yesterday morning, returning to the island later in the day.

In a skit which was presented during the sermon, it was mentioned that it was okay for Christians to be involved in politics because they could make a difference everywhere. It was also stated that with their involvement it could no longer be considered "politricks".

"Instead of the professions shaping us, we can shape the professions," one of the actors said. (WB)
