LEAVE THE LITTLE QUIBBLES off the school premises and let the teachers and principals get on with their job.
That advice came from Minister of Education Ronald Jones to parents of primary school children yesterday during his tour of four primary schools in St Lucy, namely Ignatius Byer Primary School, St Lucy Primary, Selah Primary and Half Moon Fort Primary School.
"Give the schools your full support," he said.
"Don't annoy the school or frustrate the roles of principals and teachers as they work within the schools. When there are little conflicts among the children, don't get involved in that. Let the school settle those matters." Jones said it was disruptive when parents became "overly protective" and display behaviour that might not be appropriate for children to see.
"They can get into fits of anger and cause greater problems within the primary school environment. We don't want that kind of situation when children see their parents curse teachers, threaten to do harm to teachers and behave in deviant manner.
"Their children then believe that they can replicate it on the school compound. That is something that will not be tolerated," the minister warned.
