The National Housing Corporation (NHC) is getting ready to build four four-storey housing blocks at the junction of Country Road and Whitepark, St Michael.
This was confirmed yesterday by Minister of Housing Michael Lashley, who will be touring the site next week.
"We are sticking to our promises at NHC, to start building high-rise apartments. We will be using NHC workers to do the initial work which will save the Government some money," the minister said.
Some of the work would be done by private contractors and tenders would be invited shortly.
Lashley added that work had not been done at the site since 2000. (KB)
