Sir David worried about remand delay

THE length of time some accused people have to spend on remand is of concern to Chief Justice Sir David Simmons.

He wants the problem dealt with since such delays can impact on peoples' rights to a fair trial within a reasonable time.

Sir David spoke to this issue on the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation's (CBC) News and Current Affairs TV 8 programme The People's Business of which he is this evening's special guest. It will be aired at 7:30 p.m. (ES)
