MISS LUCY STANDS TALL. Miss Lucy was the proud winner of yesterday's Barbados National Bank Decorated Cart Parade and Gala. Here, in this Cherie Pitt photograph she stood tall representing the north's natural beauty and as a symbolic mother as St Lucy is the only female among all the parishes. Miss Lucy's dress was made of traditional woven cane, which is predominantly grown in St Lucy, with a white cotton laced apron and head wrap. The cross on her head represented one of the oldest parish churches, St Lucy's Parish Church, which is 379 years old and at her feet were flowers from the Animal Flower Cave. (TM)
