She made the request last night during her reply to Prime Minister David Thompson's Budgetary Proposal presented on Monday.
"The reality is that there are activities going on at RDC that merit immediate action in my book . . . . The price of houses at the RDC has moved from the range of $59 000 - $63 000 to $87 000 with a change of Government an increase of almost 50 per cent.
"Electrical work at the RDC has moved from $3 900 for re-wiring to over $9 000. The documents are here.
"A contractor tendered on April 13 but a claim for mobilisation of ten per cent of the money, $8 700, was submitted two days prior to the tender submitted.
"It was done and what is worse is that the same contractor did the same thing with a house in Industry Hall in St Peter . . . and again on April 11, 2008, the contractor submitted another claim, same date, of $8 700 mobilisation and did not tender until April 13; another one in River Land, St Philip, with house being repaired on April 11, once again all three mobilisation submitted days before the actual tender is submitted.
"An installing of an entrance lock of a RDC-commissioned house in Maynards, St Peter, the contractor charged $2 560 for the lock," she said.
She pointed out that at all times these jobs were approved by Power.
"In allowing a chairman to remain in office presiding over this kind of irregular behaviour. Next week cannot find Mr Chairman in office and we would see whether the Prime Minister is the person that walks the walk or talks the talk," she charged. (TM)
