Captain Jarvis is dead

VETERAN NATION EDITOR Robin Jarvis has died at 63.

The former Night Editor of Nation publications, from 1988 until his death yesterday, first joined the publishing company in 1974, moving from proof-reader to sub-editor to rewrite editor over the years.

Captain Jarvis, as he was called by his peers, was attached to the Quality Control Desk. His duties included checking NATION publications for grammatical and other errors, good taste and libel.

He leaves to mourn his death wife Judith and five children. (RDG)
