When the DAILY NATION visited Bulkeley Factory in St George, several cartloads of cane stood idle, waiting to be transported, while tractor drivers and truck drivers were forced to take up parking positions in the yard.

Three workmen were busy carrying out repairs on the hoist.

The situation also affected operations at Andrews Factory in St Joseph as workmen waited impatiently for the canes to arrive.

Repairs were expected to have been completed by late yesterday. (MB)
