"WHAT BELONGS to Dalton stays with Dalton" was the slogan on this year's T-shirts.

And for the second consecutive year, House Dalton blew away the competition, winning by more than 500 points at the Powerade-sponsored Harrison College Inter-House Track and Field Competition at the school grounds yesterday.

Leading by 263 points at the start of the day, Dalton ended with a record 1807.5 points, extending the lead over Collymore (1284.5), Deighton (1268.5) and Armstrong (1117.5).

Best sprinter Gregory Frederick's, winner of the Division 1 Boys' 100 (11.27) and 200 (22.77); Michael Knight 400 (50.77); Akila Forde, Aisha Bowen, Sydney Jackson, Ashae Lovell, Joshua Gay, Zoe Bradshaw as well as the Jalisa Carvalho, Tiffany Jordan and Amelia Rouse all played a big role.

Leading the girls' charge was senior victrix ludorum Najuma Comissiong who set three records en route to 73 points. She lowered her own times in the 1500 (5:19) and 3000 (12.18) and also erased Andrea Blackett's 1993 mark of 2:34.10 to win the 800 in 2:29.29 and was second in the 400 metres in 64.64.

The senior victor ludorum title went to CARIFTA hurdler Tyrell Forde of Collymore. As he continues to improve, Forde lowered his time in the Division 2 Boys' 100m hurdles from 13.82 to 13.45 seconds. He won the 400 metres in 53.10 seconds, the 100 in 11.75 and 200 in 23.38. That division was dominated by Collymore's athletes including Dario Stoute, Jeremy Haynes, and Ibrahim Hinds who also broke the 1500 metres record.

However, the most dominating performance came from Jerrad Mason of Armstrong. The junior victor ludorum broke a 27-year-old record, clocking 55.05 seconds in the Division 4 Boys' 400 metres, erasing the 59.11 set by James Brown in 1981 and the 14-year 2:21.51 in the 800, replacing it with 2:16.61. Mason was a class act, claiming prizes for best sprinter and middle distance, also winning the 100 (12.97) and 200 (25.20).

Joycelyn Alleyne of Armstrong was the junior victrix ludorum with 59 points, consistently picking up points in her events.

Middle distance runner Erin Carter of Collymore also had a good meet. She erased Comissiong's 5:33 in the 1500 metres, clocking 5:19, and also won the 100, 200 and 400 metres.

Twelve records were broken during the course of the meet. Shannon Greene of Armstrong erased both of Keisha Walkes' Division 3 records in the shot put (8.91) and discus (24.05) with 9.63 and 27.18 metres, respectively,. Jelani Adams also set new records
in the Division 1 Boys' 1500 metres and replaced Julian Boxill's 1991 mark of 18.12 in the 5000 with 18.02.
