Reason for fish kill still not known

INVESTIGATIONS ARE STILL ongoing as to what caused the fish kill along the north and east coasts on Monday.

Officials from the Environmental Protection Department said yesterday most of the tests were being done by the Fisheries Division.

Chief Fisheries Officer Stephen Willoughby said "when there is something more, we will contact you".

Hundreds of dead fish, mostly John Jacks, about seven inches long, were washed up on the beaches of River Bay, St Lucy; Martin's Bay, St John; and Cattlewash and Bathsheba in St Joseph. (WB)
