Vincie boys in easy 5-wicket win

ST JOHN'S – St Vincent and The Grenadines were hardly tested in winning a quarter-final match in the Stanford 20/20 Tournament here yesterday.

They easily beat United States Virgin Islands by five wickets to set up a showdown against Windward Islands rivals Grenada next week Wednesday.

They dismissed United States Virgin Islands for 92 in 19.1 overs and won with as many as five overs to spare.

Kenroy Martin, a former Windward Islands player and former West Indies Under-19 representative, snatched three late wickets and hit an unbeaten 21 to win the US$25 000 Man-Of-The-Match award.

Former West Indies fast bowler Nixon McLean also assisted the cause with three wickets. (HG)
