New venue for cricket lecture
Published on: 5/9/07.

THE VENUE FOR TODAY'S 2007 Keith Boyce Memorial Lecture has been changed from the 3Ws Oval at the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies to Lecture Theatre 1, opposite the main administration building, on the campus.

The decision was taken late yesterday after discussions between the executive of the Coleridge and Parry School Alumni Association, which is organising the event, and officials at the campus, in response to the heavy interest in attending the 7 p.m. event by the public.

Lecture Theatre 1 will allow a larger number of people to hear no-nonsense former West Indies pacer Joel "Big Bird" Garner speak on the topic: West Indies Cricket – What's The Way Forward?

The lecture is organised annually by the Coleridge and Parry School Alumni Association in honour of former CP student and West Indies cricketer, the late Keith Boyce, and this year is taking place under the patronage of principal of the Cave Hill Campus, Professor Hilary Beckles. A special invitation is extended to the Coleridge and Parry fraternity. (PR)
