AFTER 25 years in the business, calypsonian Adonijah still has a lot of stamina, and that was more than enough to Give Thanks.
For well over an hour last Saturday night, the big Rasta took colleagues, fans and friends on a nostalgic musical journey starting with Dreadlock Symphony and climaxing with the remade version of Rock In Ethiopia.
The large crowd gathered at The Plantation Garden Theatre, St Lawrence, Christ Church, also heard from 25-year veteran Serenader, John King, Ras Iley and Trinidad's Singing Sandra.
Singing Sandra, who enjoyed two encores, did an impromptu dedication of the Hollies' He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother to her Barbadian counterpart.
Tributes in recognition of Ado's achievement were made by the United Artistes of Barbados, Nicholas Brancker, Antonio "Boo" Rudder and Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, Reverend Joseph Atherley. (YB)
