After that contest, he leaves Texas for Montreal, Canada, where he will flex against some of the top musclemen around at the Montreal Pro Classic on September 3.
Belgrave was upbeat about the contests, and told
"I enjoyed training for these competitions. I did not put on much additional weight, but I was able to improve on my arms and shoulders. I had a back injury which set me back a bit. I was unable to squat as heavy as I would have liked, but despite that I am pleased with the gains I have made."
He competed in the Toronto Pro in Canada last year as well as the Europa.
"At the Toronto Pro, Jim Manion, who is the president of the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB), told me he liked what I brought to the competition, but I needed to bring up my arms and shoulders. He told me not to rush it, take my time and I will improve," said Belgrave.
As for sponsorship, Belgrave was disappointed. "I sent out about 12 to 14 letters to businesses, but only about two responded saying they couldn't help at this time. Apart from assistance from Jenn's Health and Beauty Supplies, I've been pretty much getting finances on my own. I'm selling T-shirts to be able to make the trip overseas."
