Kid Zone to lighten parents' load

A NEW ATTRACTION will be at the 2008 Barbados Manufacturing Expo (BMEX) to be held at the Sherbourne Conference Centre over the upcoming extended holiday weekend.

The introduction of the Butterfield Kid Zone to the expo is expected to generate much more interest, as well as increased attendance.

The area is geared to parents and guardians attending the expo who have children between three and 12 years old. It has been added to ensure that when adults are viewing the exhibits, they can do so knowing that their children are in a safe environment at the same venue.

According to Nicola Greaves, marketing officer at Butterfield Bank, "the concept behind the zone is simple – to provide a fun, safe environment for children so their parents would be free to peruse the exhibits at BMEX and maybe do some shopping in the process".

Greaves added that the Butterfield Kid Zone would be manned by carefully selected staff from Butterfield Bank and the Barbados Manufacturers Association.

Each child will be allowed to spend three fantastic hours in the zone with activities to keep him/her very busy, including face-painting, kite-making, story-telling, learning how to play the game of warri, a movie corner and a petting zoo.

Butterfield Bank has included an art and colouring competition which will be open to all children in the Kid Zone. (WB)
