This is as a result of a failed attempt by the board to convene an extraordinary general meeting on February 12, to have the majority of members ratify the agreement which has been brought to the table in the form of a resolution.

The board is now in the process of reconvening the special meeting to have the agreement ratified. The release indicated that if the resolution was accepted by the majority of members, management of the facility would rest with Kensington Oval Management Inc. (KOMI).
The board stressed in its release that it had not entered into any clandestine agreement with Government without approval of members of the association.
Handed over
The release indicated that since Kensington Oval was handed over to World Cup Barbados Inc. in 2005, it had not regained management of the facility even though it had staged two Carib Beer matches there earlier in the year.
The release comes after former Prime Minister Owen Arthur launched an attack on the board during last week's Estimates Debate in the House of Assembly.
He said the BCA was taking Barbadians for a ride and Government was being held to ransom. He suggested that no more money should be spent on the Oval until the BCA commit to a proposal on its ownership and management. (WG)
