STROLLIN BEIJING. Prime Minister David Thompson arrived at Beijing International Airport on Monday for his first official visit to the People's Republic of China. Thompson, accompanied by his wife Mara, received what was termed "a typical Chinese welcome" when his delegation, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Christopher Sinckler, was greeted by the People's Republic of China's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Li Jinzhang and senior government officials. A packed programme will engage Thompson over the next four days in China.
