Expect more people to go before the courts, says a health official after two residents were charged with mosquito breeding on Thursday.

So far, three people are to face charges under the Health Service Control of Mosquito Regulation as health authorities battle the crippling chikungunya and dengue illnesses, transmitted by the Aedes aegypti mosquito.

On Tuesday the first case was lodged against funeral director Michael St Hill, of St Hill Funeral Home at Bush Hall Main Road in a Bridgetown Magistrate’s Court.

On Thursday two more cases were registered at the Holetown Magistrate’s Court and those persons are expected to be summoned to appear before the court shortly.

“This is going to be a regular thing. Over the years we’ve been lenient with people,” the official said.
