A BARBADOS beauty queen; a Queen’s Counsel in a Trinidadian law firm, a teacher of two decades’ experience, an experienced banker and a handful of Barbados Scholarship and Exhibition winners are among those now able to practise law in Barbados.
They were part of a group of 30 attorneys who took their oaths before proud parents and friends in a full sitting in the Court of Appeal yesterday afternoon.
The new attorneys were proposed by Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite and Solicitor-General Jennifer Edwards, QC, who read their bios and called them “persons of good character” and “persons fit and proper to be admitted to practise law in Barbados”.
