Crowds throng Chefette
MANAGING DIRECTOR of Chefette Restaurants, Ryan Haloute with four-year-old daughter Jodi in hand, giving a thumbs-up.

THEY CAME BY THE HUNDREDS to dance to the music of Rupee and Mikey and to enjoy their favourite meals at Chefette’s 14th restaurant at Black Rock.
The smallest came in parents’ arms and strollers. Many came holding the hands of mommies and daddies, and the much bigger ones turned up dressed in their Crop-Over gear.
The event, planned by Managing Director of Chefette Restaurants, Ryan Haloute, said it was the company’s way of giving back to a society, which has supported it since the first Chefette opened in Fontabelle in 1972.
Face-painting, special giveaways, dancing with the stars of the evening, and just enjoying the atmosphere of the new facility with its three-storey playground, were the order of the four-hour event last Thursday evening. (CH)

Fast food is bad for you, stay away from it and live a long healthy life.

Comment LinkI wonder how many Barbadians are overweight and suffering from health problems due to the deep-fried food sold by “fast-food” establishments.
How much will these health-care problems cost the country?
All fast food restaurants should do all that they can to reduce the salt and number of calories (especially calories due to “fat” content) contained in their products.
Bajans should also do their part by not eating this type of food too often.

Comment LinkWhen will Cheffette finally expand it’s operation out side of Barbados? Maybe the government should open the market and allow true competition and force Cheffette to expand into the other Caribbean islands.
