A time and place for everything

More church leaders are venting their disgust at the disrespectful manner in which Barbadians are dressing for funerals, as well as the unruly behaviour exemplified by some.
Reverend Dr Lucille Baird, of Mount Zion’s Missions Inc., is adamant that there is a time and place for everything and the time for inappropriate dress and half-naked attire is on Kadooment Day and in the clubs and fetes.
And chairman of the Barbados Christian Council, Monsignor Vincent Blackett, has lashed out at those who throw rum and marijuana into graves.
By extension, the two are giving “1000 per cent backing” to the rector of the St Lucy Parish Church, Reverend Curtis Goodridge, who took the position to ban funerals with “mourning colours optional” request from his church. (AH)
