Bajan Frightfest at Museum
Sun, October 07, 2012 - 12:00 AM
Fans of all things Halloween will be in for a delightful new entertainment experience with the first annual Bajan Frightfest at the Barbados Museum.
Scheduled for October 20 and 21, Bajan FrightFest 2012 will provide scary entertainment for adults, teens and children.
The event will run over two days, with the Saturday open to ages 12 and up, and the Sunday catering to the entire family.
Former Miss Barbados World Kennifer Marius, who is behind the production, said the Museum was chosen for the entertaining weekend based on its rich history and fantastic environment.
Led by Marius and creative director Glen Brathwaite, the Bajan Frightfest team has designed an impressive line-up of haunted halls and interactive experiences to make the most of the Museum’s natural setting and history, including a display that reflects a true horror – slavery.
On the lighter side, one of the fun highlights of the event will be the Olympus maze.
For teens and adults, there will be no shortage of spookiness at the Saturday event, with a fully themed Vampire Lounge, Digicel Intestonia eating competition and the SLAM FM Monster Ball, complete with a troupe of talented Zombie Brek Leg Dancers from Pinelands Creative Workshop.
On Sunday, the family day, patrons will enjoy the Purity photo booth, Caribbean ghost story-telling on the Banks Gore Stage, and the Lucky Horseshoe Ghost Of The Tavern children’s costume competition. (PR/NS)
