Accurate?leg spin bowling from young Kadeem Knight brought Psychiatric Hospital back into contention at the close of the first day’s play in the Barbados Cricket Association’s Second Division final against ICBL Empire at the Isolation Oval ground in Lakes, St Andrew, yesterday.
Knight picked up three wickets for six runs off his allotted seven overs as ICBL Empire, chasing a total of 127 runs to obtain first innings lead finished on 95 for six off 29 overs, requiring 33 more runs to overtake their opponents’ total.
Operating from the southern end, Knight bowled with accuracy and guile.
Opening batsman Jason Parris (28) along with former Barbados and West Indies player Roland Holder (13) brought some credibility to Empire’s batting while veteran Alfonso Lashley was not out on 14 at the close.
Earlier, Psychiatric Hospital were dismissed for 126 of 29.3 overs  after being sent in.
Reco Headley topscored with 30 and was supported by Dwayne Wilson (28) and Knight, who completed a good all-round game, getting 25.
Kamal Sealy (3 for 40) along with captain Robin Parris (2 for 11) and opening bowler Andre Evelyn (2 for 27) were the chief wicket takers for Empire.
The match continues next Saturday.
