MEMBERS OF THE Barbados Cricket Association’s (BCA) executive board were in a heated extra-ordinary meeting at the island’s most historic venue late tonight, as the fallout over disgraced CEO, Jefferson Miller continued.

President of the BCA, Joel ‘Big Bird’ Garner arrived at Kensington Oval just after 5 p.m. and a number of other members soon followed, with the special meeting starting just before 6 p.m.

Around 8.30 p.m., a high level of shouting could be heard from the BCA’s boardroom, where the meeting was being held. Up to 10 p.m., the meeting was still in progress.

Vice-president Deighton Smith, as well as board member Hartley Reid both exited the meeting for a few moments before returning.

It was revealed over the weekend that Miller, who was appointed CEO of the island’s cricketing governing body only in September, had been convicted of grand larceny in the United States in 2009, and is currently serving a 12-year probation sentence.

Miller, who met with BCA top brass last Friday at the Courtyard Marriot, was not at Kensington Oval for the meeting. (BA)
