AS THE HURRICANE season officially gets underway today, those gathered at Chapman Street’s Church Of God prayed for a quiet season as a member exhorted her fellow Christians to be prepared for whatever the season should hold.Sister Rhonda King, reciting an original poem, made the congregation chuckle when she said was not bothered by Hurricane Janet in September 1951 because she was born in August, that year. However, she urged them to not let the hurricane season “come like a thief in the night” and told them that preparations should have been made earlier in the year. Her poem was endorsed by Minister of Home Affairs Adriel Brathwaite, who urged the congregation against complacency this hurricane season.
