Bed shortage

A SHORTAGE OF GURNEYS is affecting the response of ambulances.

Sources close to the Ambulance Service reported that only yesterday they started out with five fully functioning ambulances, but by the end of the day only two were operating due to the shortage of gurneys – the emergency medical stretchers with wheels used in ambulances.

Because of this, ambulances were only able to attend to two out of the 20 calls received.

“The situation is posing a huge challenge. It’s hindering us from responding to calls,” said the reliable source.
