TWO BARBADIAN YOUTH are hoping to do big things with a local shrub.
Dale Jones and Shako Gibson have tapped into the healing and flavourful properties of the bay leaf (true laurel) and are looking to capitalise on what earned them several gold and bronze awards for culinary arts at last year’s National Independence Festival of Creative Arts.
Jones, a chef by profession, has developed four formulas using bay leaf that can be used to enhance any drink or dish, and he is working on a fifth specifically for diabetics.
The duo officially launched their True Laurel brand at the Old Spirit Bond Mall last night, and the products are expected to be on supermarket shelves soon. (YB)
