What favourites?
Australia clearly didn’t know they were playing against them.
Heavy showers weren’t the only things that rained on Chris Gayle’s parade, as the men from Down Under crashed his birthday celebrations with an emphatic 17-run defeat in the West Indies’ Group B opener at the ICC World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka.
Led by the birthday boy’s 54, the Windies looked to have set an imposing total of 191 for eight in yesterday’s much awaited showdown.
But the Aussies were even more impressive, rattling off an even 100 for the loss of just David Warner in 9.1 overs before rain washed out play to hand them victory via the Duckworth/Lewis method.
