Bolt, Fraser-Pryce top sports honours

Olympic gold medallists Usain Bolt and Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce have won the 2012 RJR Sports Foundation Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year awards. Both athletes were honoured at a ceremony at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in Kingston last night. Bolt’s Racers Track Club teammate, Yohan Blake was named first runner-up to the Sportsman of the Year. Swimmer Alia Atkinson was named runner-up to Sportswoman of the Year. Atkinson received another on the night. She received the People’s Choice Award, while Bolt’s coach Glen Mills received the Iconic Award. It was the second major awards for Bolt and Fraser-Pryce within four days. They won the 2012 Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association’s male and female athlete of the year awards on Tuesday. (Jamaica Gleaner)
