LEGAL WRANGLING over a contentious log book took up the final 20 minutes of the inquiry into The Alexandra School industrial dispute yesterday evening.
After principal Jeff Broomes’ lawyers produced a book that was said to contain reference to a letter being delivered by Broomes to the Ministry of Education last year, it sparked discussion among other counsel, who remarked on how new it looked and the fact that it hardly contained anything.
Senior counsel for the commission, Milton Piece, then produced a log book from the ministry, while taking Broomes’ log book into his possession with the approval of Commissioner Frederick Waterman.
Here, an animated Broomes (centre) and his Queen’s Counsel Vernon Smith (left) gesticulating as Pierce leafs through one of the log books at the end of yesterday’s session at the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Complex.
