Thursday nights in Bridgetown will take on a new look and feel starting this Thursday.
From then until September 12 the majority of stores in the historic city will remain open until 9 p.m. and shoppers will be treated to cultural presentations and entertainment.
Thursday Nights Live … in The City is the latest initiative of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI) aimed at driving both locals and visitors into the commercial centre which tends to fall quiet after 5:30 p.m.
The eight-week venture, which is expected to include 75 to 80 per cent of retailers, was announced today during a Press briefing in the Collonade Mall on Broad Street.
Culture chair for the Revitalisation of Bridgetown Initiative and vice president of the BCCI Eddie Abed said added security would be put in place by the Royal Barbados Police Force.  (NB)
