Fri, February 14, 2014 - 3:42 PM

TULULLA SALVATORI and Edward Denney were today each sentenced to nine months imprisonment.

The British couple made a false report to police they were robbed by gunmen at their Sandy Lane residence on February 5 of $2 000 cash and jewellery worth over $34 million.

Salvatori, 27, and 41-year-old Denney pleaded  guilty to wasting the police time when they appeared before Magistrate Barbara Cooke-Alleyne in the Holetown Magistrates’ Court.

Salvatori also was sentenced to an additional nine months at Dodds Prison after she admitted to obtaining the services of a hired car by deception. That will run consecutively.

A cheque submitted for the payment of over $7 606.25 was dishonoured by the bank. (TS)

Good job RBPF! Now, as soon as these vermin have completed their sentences, deport them forthwith and ban them from ever returning to our shores. The BTA should also launch a lawsuit against them seeking punitive damages for the way in which Barbados' reputation has been besmirched by their actions.

I think I like this Acting Commissioner. Looks like a no nonsense guy who gets the job done. Why isn't he promoted to commissioner? I believe he has earned those stripes, don't you?

Good job RBPF. Good job Magistrate Cooke-Alleyne. Love the consecutive sentence too.
Now this is real food for thought. We have to look carefully at the impact of Tourism, economic citizenship and all else, and weigh it all against the reputation this island is garnering. We have become too dependent on Tourism.

Hmmm...the check bounced. Somehow I wasn't feeling the millions. Enjoy your stay at the elegant Dodds Estate.
