Principal of Parkinson Memorial Secondary School, Jeff Broomes, is feeling well again and will be back at school today.

At a National Union of Public Workers Press conference yesterday dealing with a different matter, Broomes said he was ready to get back to work and knew nothing of any major disagreements concerning his management style.

“We had management meetings every Tuesday where we discussed anything we wanted and the only things they objected to was the remediation and the intervention programmes. I heard in the media that the teachers had signed something but I know the vast majority of teachers had refused to sign anything,” he said.

Broomes said he was not trying to reinvent himself, and remained comfortable with his approach at Alexandra, the school he headed before the Government set up a commission of inquiry to look into a number of problems there. He was subsequently transferred to Parkinson. (CA)
