Alexandra School principal Jeff Broomes was on the job yesterday.

How much longer the embattled principal will remain there is unclear after he was lambasted by Commissioner Frederick Waterman in a report laid in the House of Assembly yesterday.

The long-awaited report of the Commission of Inquiry into the school has recommended that Broomes be either moved to another section of the Public Service, or be compulsorily retired.

When contacted yesterday, Broomes’ attorney Vernon Smith, QC,  wasn’t willing to divulge much on the way forward.

“I don’t even know,” he told the MIDWEEK NATION.

It was evident what Commissioner Waterman's recommendations would have been when he expressed that Mr Broomes pitching marbles with his students was below that of a principal, .

As predicted, and right on cue, the Broomes' apologists will now seek to pelt around indiscriminately and maliciously subtle and not-so-subtle aspersions of the Commissioner.
They will resort to the ad hominem fallacy because they just cannot confront the reality of Jeff Broomes being a person who discriminates against and victimizes teachers;who mismanages the school; who indulges in untenable management practices;who is an abusive workplace bully; who manipulates students; who engages in demeaning and belittling behaviour towards the teachers in sight and hearing of students; who creates divisions amongst the staff. It's all there in black and white, Mr Harper! Along with the Commissioner stating that Jeff Broomes' allegation about a teacher not teaching a class for an entire term "has been found to be inaccurate"! But Mr Harper is silent on these things.
The Commissioner, a well-respected and eminent jurist, makes these findings after weighing all the evidence...and the apologists ignore the message and seek to shoot the messenger.
We are dealing with serious matters here - a particularly horrible one being Jeff Broomes' manipulation of students...and all Mr Harper can offer to the discourse is a piddling comment about marble-pitching in a cynical attempt to denigrate the Commissioner.
Ad hominem argument is the oldest, most clumsy trick in the book. Come better than this Mr Harper.
There is absolutely no moral basis for Mr Broomes' continued tenure as principal of the Alexandra School. None!

@ Carl Harper!!!!you have hit the nail on the head, and that is why in a comment after he had Castigated Mr. Broomes in front of the Commision, i was of the opinion that he should have RECUSED himself from the Commission as his final verdict had been telegraphed, and so it was, i hope that Mr. Broomes FIGHT any attempt to move him with every breath he has left in his body. That Report on it's own is an INJUSTICE

The word is 'recommendations'. Meaning that they will be taken under consideration not that they need to be carried out. All that money spent to come up with recommendations that anybody with some level of intelligence and comprehension could have come up with for less than half the price.
