Bridgetown came alive yesterday from about 11 a.m. up until Dr Karl Watson’s Heritage Walk time at 5:30 p.m.
Children, and even adults, took advantage of the jumping tents, face-painting and balloons, and were wowed by a fashion show at Jubilee Gardens. Then it was off for a tour of Bridgetown from Carlisle House, along Victoria Street, ending at the Waterfront Café.
With the walk focused on heritage, enthusiastic walkers were treated to re-enactments of characters who represented the historical past of the island – from King Dyal to Rachel Pringle (centre).
Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Lalu Vaswani and executive director Lisa Gale were pleased with the turnout all day. They are hoping to bring one more such event by yearend. (NSH)
