Shaquille?Parris?bowled Rocklyn Hardware Isolation Cavaliers into the final of the Sagicor Shield competition yesterday with a five-wicket haul that sent last year’s losing finalists Psychiatric Hospital crashing out.
Parris bagged five for 32 as Psychiatric Hospital, who won the toss and batted, were dismissed for 125 in 32.2 overs after the match was reduced from 40 to 33 overs per side due to intermittent showers.
In reply, Isolation Cavaliers made light work of the winning target, reaching 126 for five in 29.5 overs to win the semi-final with 19 balls to spare.
When Psychiatric Hospital batted, they found great difficulty in adequately negotiating Parris, who took wickets at important stages.
They were in early trouble, losing the wicket of Sylvan Greenidge with the score on one in the first over. Prolific batsman Gregory Gaskin joined Roger Burrowers and they took the score to 25 before Burrowes was leg before to DaCosta Atherley for 12.
Captain Reco Headley partnered Gaskin and the pair added a further 38 runs to revive the innings after the Cavaliers bowlers were dominating in the early stages.
Gaskin played on to Reneldo Holder with the score at 63 and Jamar Willoughby was out for two as the Black Rock team slumped to 66 for four.
However, a partnership of 26 between Headley and Alfred Alleyne kept the momentum going but wickets continued to tumble and they were dismissed in the final over of the innings.
Isolation Cavaliers then made an excellent start to their run chase with captain Dale Richards and Jahbari Doughlin adding 48 for the first wicket in eight overs.
Richards was the first wicket to fall, run out by a direct throw while attempting a second run after making 35 inclusive of one four and three sixes off just 25 deliveries.
Doughlin, who played the anchor role to Richards as well as steering the innings, was finally out for a top score of 38 but Sadrian Ward made a useful 26 not out at the end  to secure victory for the St Andrew club.
