Cawmere maintained their outside chance of a first Division One volleyball crown when the Goddard Enterprises Limited League continued on Thursday night.
The Waterford lads scored an easy 25-23, 25-22, 25-16 win over Juniors at the Wildey Gym.
Cawmere’s next task will be to defeat knockout kings Sandy Crest Medical Centre Deacons and then hope that Progressive beat Chargers in straight sets.
Progressive did not get much practice for that Chargers’ clash as cellar occupants Foundation United defaulted.
There was also a no-show by Plus Club United in the rescheduled women’s fixture against Safe Carlton. Plus Club indicated they were unaware of the changed fixture.
TeleBarbados Sentry Insurance Brokers Deacons made a bid to take the second spot after battling to conquer deposed queens Freekz Customz Chargers 25-23, 25-22, 25-10.
A depleted Chargers are facing the possibility of dropping from first to second last at the end of the season. (KB)
