Champs Lakers fail to turn up

THE LUMBER COMPANY Lakers were missing in action on Saturday night. Literally.
In a shocking and embarrassing turn of events, the knockout champions and defending league champs did not have five uniformed players for their scheduled match against the Clapham Bulls at the Barbados Community College in the Barbados
Amateur Basketball Association’s Premier League Competition.
When referee Andre Jordan called the players to the court to start the game, only Adrian Allman, Ormond Haynes, Keith Birkett and Ian Alexander were suited up in the Lakers’ yellow and blue uniform.
Veterans Andre Boadu and Matthew Moore along with Omari Corbin, Akeem Williams and Andre Lockhart were nowhere to be seen, and another player, Jamario Grazette, was not on court.
