THE ANGLICAN CHURCH must continue to play a critical role in guiding Barbados along a path that is wholesome and righteous, Archbishop Dr John Holder said yesterday.
His comments came while introducing Bishop Nathan Baxter, preacher at the Heralds Of The Good News Anglican Diocesan Service held in Independence Square. The service focused on evangelism and Archbishop Holder urged all Christians to be heralds of the Goods News of the Kingdom of God and to be evangelists.
He said the church “must be the herald of justice, righteousness and hope as we face the challenges of the day”.
He added: “We can fulfil this great Christian mandate if each Christian takes the call to be a herald of the Good News seriously, and so become an influence for good wherever we are, whatever may be our calling in life.”

This good new sounds very good but I still feel the church must do more than just talk action is need we cannot just sit while the flock stray in such great numbers. You have to go into the communities and reach out to the people and show them that yes you care and that the power of prayer works. I admire the effort but at the same time the approach needs a more intensive program of involvement; we all have read how Jesus described the High priest as. The church have waited far too long to react now we have a crisis where the flock is more complicated for the shepherd but the task can still be saved. All Christians know that the road will not be an easy one therefore those trained and who knows the roll the apostles did must realize it takes more than reading a written document on what your projection for Christian and apostolic role in guiding Barbados along a path that is wholesome and righteous…all hands on deck.
