Barbadians will soon learn about the City which was designated a World Heritage Site last year.
This morning, some got a rare sight dating back to post-colonial Bridgetown where a Town Crier and Mauby Woman were featured during the launch of the event at Jubilee Gardens.
A brief re-enactment was part of the launch of the First Citizens Bridgetown by Night Heritage Tour in association with the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc which is being organised by the National Cultural Foundation.
On Sunday June 3, for the first time, festival-goers will have the opportunity to learn more about the City through a night tour which is scheduled to begin at Trevor’s Way and culminate at Cavan’ s Lane by the Old Screw Dock.
Under the guidance and knowledge of well-known historian Morris Greenidge, walkers will see theatrical re-enactments and dramatisations of major events that occurred in the City as well as iconic figures. (AH)
