Cricket lessons for French students

Trying to?explain the game of cricket may sound like French to those who know nothing about the game.
Well, in that case a group of 42 primary school students from Guadeloupe would have had no problems in grasping the basics of Barbados’ national sport during their one-week tour of the island.
With the help of retired languages teacher Aird Atherley and some of the bilingual teachers on tour, former Barbados leg-spinner George Linton and Ronald Allman of Belmont Primary sought to teach the keen students some of the points about bowling, batting and fielding at Blenheim on Thursday.
The Guadeloupians arrived in Barbados on May 11 and returned home on Sunday after engaging some of the local children in a variety of sports including, lovely cricket. (KB)
