Crowds gather for Reggae on the Beach

Seven was the magic hour for thousands of reggae fans gathered on Brandon’s Beach, the venue of the Digicel Reggae Beach Party, the first of four events in the Digicel, Barbados reggae festival.
That was when one of the headline acts on the night, Cham hit the stage, performing signature hits like Ghetto Story and Vitamin ‘S’.
In a set lasting more than an hour, Cham took the audience on a journey with hits spanning the year. Before Cham, though, there was the Bajan invasion with the likes of Crimeson, Levi, Fari and Lady Essence. 
Earlier in the evening, Director of FAS Entertainment, organisers of the festival, Al Gilkes told nationnews.com over 5000 tickets had been sold ahead of the event, which saw a record numbers of patrons. 
This was seen later in the night when FAS representative, Aja came to the stage to announce that the show risked being shut down due to crowd bottlenecks.
Speaking to media after Cham says he has no reason to stop making music and credits his team for his longevity in the business. He says he travels every week to perform for the fans and is heading to Guyana this weekend.
Popcaan hit the stage at 8:25 with shouts if Gaza and “free world boss. Still to come was Mr. Vegas.
