Curfew lifted in TT

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad – The Trinidad and Tobago government today lifted the five hour curfew that had been in effect here since August 21, but said the state of emerge cy (SOE) would remain pending further reviews by the National Security Council.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar told the nation that the SOE and the curfew had achieved the desired results in “significantly” reducing crime on the island.
“I wish to advise that the National Security Council has recommended and the government has agreed to remove the curfew on land and sea in Trinidad and Tobago immediately.
“The State of emergency will remain in effect that this will be reviewed on a continuous basis,” she added. (CMC)
