BARBADOS’ ROADS were a dangerous place to be yesterday morning with smash-ups in St Peter, St James and St Michael.
At least three of the accidents involved a three-vehicle pile-up, with one of the more serious accidents requiring the Barbados Fire Service to extract a motorist using a hydraulic rescue tool.
This accident was a head-on collision between a Transport Board bus and a car at Road View, St Peter. According to reports, Lamoantha Griffith, of Convent Drive, Maynards, St Peter, had to be freed by fire officers, while three other people who were aboard the bus, which was driven by Stephen Toppin, complained of minor injuries.
A third vehicle – a taxi – was parked off the road in front of a residence and was struck by one of the vehicles.
